FLUORIMMUN Influenza detects type, subtype and immunoglobulin class-specific influenza virus antibodies in the serum. The test is based on the binding of specific antibodies to chicken erythrocytes coated with influenza virus antigen on slides. Binding is detected through FITC-labelled anti-human IgA and anti-human IgG antibodies. The antigens are the influenza virus vaccine strains recommended by WHO for the respective season. Detection of influenza A virus subtypes can be important for epidemiological purposes.
