ELIMMUN-Diabetes type I is a standardized, easy-to-run ELISA for the combined and simultaneous detection of autoantibodies to GAD65 and IA2 in a serum sample. The wells of the microtitre plates are coated with a recombinant fusion antigen consisting of tyrosine phosphatase and glutamate decarboxylase (IA2c:605-977 / GAD65:1-585).
The test is based on the binding of specific IgG antibodies to the immobilized IA2-GAD fusion antigen. Binding is detected through a peroxidase-labelled anti-human IgG conjugate.
